About Millie

When we were young, my brother and I sat at the kitchen table drawing. Our mother walked up to us and saw us busy at work. She told me that I was the writer and my brother was the one who could draw. She meant nothing bad by it, but that maybe we could one day work on a book together. Her comments made me feel my art was no good, so I worked extra hard at it. None of us would have predicted that one day, people would pay money for my artwork!

Because of that, I feel when showing a child how to do art, the most important thing is to just make it fun. Nothing has to be good or perfect. These projects focus on making artwork fun. No art skills required.

Beetle

In this game, you and your friend(s) draw beetles, one part at a time! Try to do something comical, to make it even more fun. It's addictive!

Funny Face

Grab a friend or two, and play a fun art game that creates a unique and funny drawing.

The Guinea Pigs' Storybooks: Activity Packet

This PDF (download) provides, in addition to plenty of non-drawing activities, step-by-step instructions to draw a little guinea pig, and a drawing puzzle.
